Families must be active members of the Italian Heritage Dante Association by January 31st, 2025 to be eligible to have students apply for the scholarship.

ITALIAN HERITAGE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

5 scholarships available, 1 at $2,000.00 and 4 at $1,000.00.

The Italian Heritage Foundation is a non-profit association whose primary purpose is to foster and develop social relations among its members; to foster pride in Italian Heritage by promoting appreciation of Italian culture and its contribution to the American social order and to its arts, music and sciences, and to engage and foster events and develop facilities, policies and plans that promote the attainment of said objectives.

Why the scholarship?

The Italian heritage Foundation serves a vital role in maintaining the Italian culture and educating Italian-Americans of that culture. This scholarship is a step in that direction, raising the level of awareness that we have a rich heritage worth preserving.

Who is eligible for the award?

Any current high school senior is eligible if he or she meets the following criteria:

1. Applicant must be of Italian descent and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United States.

2. Applicant must be enrolled in either a public or private high school in Kern County who has been accepted, or anticipates being accepted for enrollment in an accredited academic institution. Home-school applicants may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.

3. Applicants must possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher at time of application.

4. Applicant’s parents must be a member of the Italian Heritage Dante Association in good standing as of 1/31/2025.

NOTE: THE POSTMARK DEADLINE FOR ALL APPLICATIONS IS APRIL 1, 2025. ANY APPLICATIONS RECEIVED AT THE ABOVE ADDRESS AFTER THE POSTMARKED DATE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

Applications received early will have the benefit of being reviewed, and if any information is missing they will have the opportunity to collect appropriate materials. Winners have 6 weeks to pick up their checks after the awards dinner or their money will be forfeited.
